Fiverr is similar to Upwork but I found Fiverr is more focused on smaller tasks while Upwork caters more to expanded niches.

There are two ways you can get going quickly and you don't need money to start off with.

This might take a while depending on how saturated the market that you are aiming for.

Your task is called a "gig" on Fiverr and my advice is to check out a couple of Youtube videos on Fiverr keywords and descriptions before you dive in blindly. Also, browse around and compare prices for gigs similar to yours so you don't price yourself out of the market from scratch.

When comparing make sure you are comparing with people at the same level as you for example don't start charging expert rates while you are still listed as an entry-level beginner. 

There are a lot of chancers on Fiverr and you will not get paid $300 dollars per gig while other beginners are charging $5 or $10 unless you have proof of experience via some other platform such as Social Media, Youtube, or a website.

The next way you will get traffic is via Social Media without spamming people. Posting regular useful content and showing people that you know what you are doing can be of benefit over the long run.

Contributing to groups related to your expertise will increase your online visibility and people will know how to find you. Once you get the ball rolling and you persist things will happen.

The final way of getting exposure will start costing you but this option must only be implemented once you have gained experience and you are earning a good income. 

It is an option to grow your business but be sure you have also learned Facebook marketing or you will not see a positive return on your investment.

Most of the communication will be done by email but with current technology, you can also have face-to-face contact via Skype, Facetime, or Zoom. it is essential to have a good line of communication with your customer as misunderstandings can damage your reputation quickly. 

Always remember there are a lot of nasty people out there so cover yourself. Remember customers can also be rated so don't be shy but be honest.

How much time must I spend on Fiverr?

The time you spend on Fiverr will depend on you as the owner of your own business. It takes a lot of time and in the beginning, you will be required to market your service. The good thing is that time spent well, in the beginning, pays you back in the long term,

If it is part-time it is better to spend half an hour a day than not to spend time at all. It will just take you a bit longer to reach a comfort level within your venture but if you don't start you will regret it when it is needed the most.

Remember a lot of the micro-jobs will require a quick completion so it is more difficult to do on a part-time basis unless the customer is happy with it. If your profile is set up correctly they will be aware of when and how long you will be available.
